From arts and crafts, to hole-in-the-wall music venues, our short list will have something for everyone, no matter what you’re looking to do. If you see something you like, make sure you act fast- we’re only looking at what’s going on this weekend.


Seacoast:

Cider Flights and Tasty Bites

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire is pleased to offer a unique, grown-up-only, fundraising event this spring. “Cider Flights & Tasty Bites”  is a special collaboration with North Country Hard Cider Company. The event, hosted at the Children’s Museum amongst its two floors of hands-on, interactive exhibits, will feature tasty four-ounce locally crafted cider pours from North Country Hard Cider paired with tasty bites from local restaurants. A portion of each ticket sold will benefit The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s exhibits and programs.

This auction may technically be next Thursday, but you don’t want to miss the MKIM’s first auction of the year! With over 30 items including pottery, jewelry, book and more, this auction is full of unique items and experiences.

St. Patrick’s Parade

Didn’t get a chance to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day last week? Don’t worry! New Hampshire’s largest St. Patrick’s Day is held the week after St. Patrick’s Day, so you can celebrate in the Queen City. The parade begins at Salmon St. and Elm, and finishes at the grandstand at Central St. and Elm. With rousing musical and dance performances, trucks, drumlins, creative banners and more, this is a must-see parade.


Monadnock:

Shamrock 5K and Family Day
March 24, 9: 30 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Cheshire Children’s Museum

Formerly known as the Shamrock Shuffle, the Shamrock 5k and Family Day is a vibrant and fun gathering that brings the families of the Monadnock Region together for a day of fun, laughter and community spirit. This event will feature the 5k shuffle race, a St. Patrick’s Day themed Best Dressed Contest, activities, live entertainment and more!

Rockin’ 4 Vets
March 22, 7:30 p.m.

Rockin’4 Vets brings New England Blues Legend James Montgomery (James Montgomery Band, Johnny Winter Band) along with Boston guitar great Jon Butcher (Jon Butcher Axis, Experience Hendrix) as part of a classic rock All-Star line-up of top New England performers. The event will feature an evening of classic rock and original songs by each artist, from their solo careers and the bands they performed in. Rockin’ 4 Vets is a long-established New England organization that presents events to raise funds for local organizations that support Vets in dealing with issues related to PTSD, addiction, and homelessness.

Children aged 2-5 are invited to join the fun! The participation fee is $10 per child, with a discounted rate of $5 for each additional sibling in the family. After the hunt, stay and play! Your child(ren) are invited to freely explore the facility! This includes free play, pictures with the Easter Bunny, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, an obstacle course and more!

The League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery is excited for the Great North American Solar Eclipse and celebrating with an exhibit Total Eclipse of the Art. On April 8, New Hampshire will be one of 13 U.S. states that is in the path of a total solar eclipse. To mark this great event, work is being submitted by various League juried artists. Jewelry, wood, pottery and more with a celestial theme will celebrate this spectacular sight. The exhibit will run from now until April 12. Stop in the gallery to see what creative pieces our talented artists have created.

Friday Film: The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The story of Coriolanus Snow, years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem. He is young, very determined and though the Snow family has fallen on hard times, Coriolanus sees a chance for a change in his fortunes when he is chosen to be a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games.
