Every week, we provide a region-by-region breakdown of events and activities from across the Granite State that you won’t want to miss. From arts and crafts, to hole-in-the-wall music venues, our short list will have something for everyone, no matter what you’re looking to do. If you see something you like, make sure you act fast- we’re only looking at what’s going on this weekend.


Seacoast:

The Nutcracker: Tea and Dance Party

Tea & Dance Parties are seasonal events open to the community! Join us some Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. to read stories about the season or holiday, have a dance party with movement and games, enjoy apple juice, tea and treats. All this fun will be followed by a craft and coloring. In the last few minutes of your magical party, take a photo in front of the seasonal backdrop with props!

The Little Mermen

The Little Mermen are the ultimate Disney cover band for Disney fanatics of all ages. The band’s repertoire covers all 82 years of the Disney canon, including favorites from The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Frozen. The group performs in full costume with band members dressing up as characters from the films. They tour nationally to sold out crowds of cosplayers and casual fans alike. Founded by singer/songwriter Alexis Babini, TLM throws enchanted events that are jam-packed with nostalgic fun and sing-alongs. Hailed by BuzzFeed and Time Out New York as the premiere Disney cover experience, they’ve won praise from none other than Disney.com and Alan Menken himself.

Wicked Joyful Pop-Up Shop

Wicked Joyful returns to the Bookery for two Holiday Pop Up Shops.
This local brand has received national media attention for niche custom action figures and known regionally for their apparel that celebrates New England lore. In Manchester, Wicked Joyful’s Nick Lavallee, is known as the mastermind of the Chicken Tender Capital of the World initiative. The brand’s holiday pop up shops have become tradition. This year’s haul includes Creepy Santa ornaments and greeting cards, Tender Town and Chicken Tender Capital apparel, and even a limited edition “Tendie” custom action figure. Come say hello and get yourself, or the tendie-enthusiast in your life, something unique for the season.

Purple: A Tribute to Prince

PURPLE is a 7-piece (and often bigger) booty shakin’, sweaty, stinky, funky good time dance party lead by frontman Craig Mitchell who navigates through Prince’s seemingly endless catalog of music. An all-star cast of musicians from bands such as the ‘Seth Yacovone Band,’ ‘The High Breaks,’ ‘Renegade Groove’ and more have been keeping the groove goin’ for over a decade, playin’ The Hits, B-Sides and Deep Cuts.

Looking for a fun project for your littles? What’s better than decorating cookies?! Starting at 9am we will have a variety of cookies and decorations available for kids (and/or adults) to create their own unique festive cookie. Each cookie is $5 and will include a trip to the “toppings table” with sprinkles, candies, and so much more! Cookies must be purchased in the shop and designs/shapes are subject to availability. Children must be accompanied by an adult and we will ask that each adult help supervise the process.
